Tractor-Trailer Driver From North Arlington Killed In Interstate Ramp Crash, Troopers Say

A Bergen County man was killed when his tractor-trailer went off an interstate ramp in Camden County, authorities said.

Jorge Valdivia of North Arlington died in the crash on Monday, Nov. 4, a state police spokesperson said. The wreck happened in Bellmawr on the ramp from Interstate 76 East to Interstate 295 North at around 2:04 a.m.

Investigators said Valdivia was driving a Freightliner truck with a pneumatic trailer when it went over the ramp's right guardrail and went down an embankment. Valdivia was ejected from the tractor-trailer and the 46-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators remained at the scene more than 12 hours after the crash. According to the state Department of Transportation, the right lane of I-76 East and shoulder was closed near Exit 1B as of 3 p.m., creating about five to 10 minutes of delays.

The crash remained under investigation.
